Modern, eco luxury perched above the trendy NIYIEM jewelry studio.

Relax in an upscale, ultra modern, eco, stay in the rural quiet with city convenience. The NEST is a beautifully appointed, sunny, guest house perched above the trendy NIYIEM jewelry studio. An architectural statement curated with local handmade goods, minutes to the ocean, forest, shopping, the best dining, famous bike trails and Mount Washington Resort (20 minute drive), the NEST is the perfect bespoke getaway. Visit the GROTTO, NIYIEM's storefront, and take your favourite handmade goods home!

The NEST is a 955 sq ft self contained Non toxic, Eco friendly, Sustainable and Thoughtfully designed suite on the upper floor of our newly built carriage house - completed September 2025.  The floor to ceiling glass walls in the living room and 12' glass entry lets in all of the beautiful south and north light for a warm, inviting, modern space.   The NEST is equipped with a full kitchen, full laundry, a large bedroom with king sized bed, large bathroom with double vanity and heated floors and private den/office.  You will be sleeping on a luxury organic latex mattress with organic and oeko tex certified bedding, enjoying a custom pink marble shower with skylight and rain shower, local organic shampoo/conditioner/body wash, hand crafted towels and bath robes and a glass enclosed deck with winter mountain views.  As an artisan, a market host to amazing craftspeople, and a lover of all things handmade, natural and chemical free, I have chosen to share my favourite things with you in the NEST.  Each of the carefully selected pieces from pottery, art and woodworking to textiles and amenities has been thoughtfully chosen for a homely stay and a truly unique, memorable experience.  When you fall in love with a favourite handmade treasure, a visit to the GROTTO, the small storefront downstairs of NIYIEM studio, will give you the opportunity to shop products from the same maker along with other beautiful goods so can take your memories and stay home with you.  Upon arrival there are refreshing drinks and locally crafted chocolate to unwind or have a little pick me up after your travels, and in the pantry there is locally roasted coffee, local loose tea, local honey and a variety of condiments and seasonings.  Each room has a tv with free NETFLIX viewing and free WIFI is provided.  As a part of our values for clean/non toxic living, the suite has a whole house water filtration system, HEPA air filtration, greenguard certified flooring, no VOC paint, VOC compliant build materials and all cleaning products are bleach free and made locally.

The NEST (the guest house), NIYIEM (the jewelry studio) and SOUTHVIEW house (our home) are situated on a 1.25 acre homestead of organic gardening, orchard, olive grove and small vineyard.  Our acreage is bee and butterfly friendly with song birds, wild bunnies, racoons, squirrels, owls, blue heron, deer, and many eagles.  The Trent River Estates, where our home is found, is a friendly, quiet, rural neighbourhood with beautiful custom homes and a sense of community.  Feel free to say hello or wave to the neighbours as you come and go.

NIYIEM studio is open for private and group workshops to all guests of the NEST and renting the studio to host your own workshop or small professional gathering is also an option.

SOUTHVIEW house, our home, is a cozy, welcoming, midcentury inspired, modern space with an emphasis on indoor | out door living, non toxic spaces and passive heating and cooling.  Raised on a "hippy island" and then having traveled the world, our homestead is a combination of my love for nature and bold architecture.

Our homestead is a truly amazing place to live and getaway to and we're happy to invite you to enjoy it as well!
